2CCR-FM is a community radio station operated by Cumberland Community Radio Inc. We broadcast from Baulkham Hills, a suburb of western Sydney. We gained our community broadcasting license in late 1992 and are licensed to serve the local government areas of Parramatta, Holroyd and Baulkham Hills. The area is about 500 sq. Km. in size. As with other community stations we broadcast at low power, some 200W to the north and 60W to the south, but our signal can be heard in many parts of Sydney. To improve reception try connecting your radio/stereo to an FM aerial. Your outdoor TV aerial can be used by putting a "Y" adaptor in your TV aerial socket in the wall. Connect your TV to one end of the "Y" and your radio to the other. These "Y" connectors can be purchased for about $5 from stores such as Dick Smith, Tandy or the sound department of large chain stores eg. K Mart or Target. The station is run entirely by unpaid volunteers. Members of the public can join the Association and take part in station activities, including broadcasting. Smooth jazz is included in programs each Monday to Friday from midnight until 9am and from 12 noon until 4pm. Outside these hours individuals present a variety of smooth jazz programs.
The station is situated in the Balcombe Heights Community Buildings, building 9, 92 Seven Hills Road, Baulkham Hills,NSW, Australia in the former Masonic buildings.
