Community radio cannot broadcast advertisements but they can broadcast sponsorship announcements. What is the difference? The only difference is the tag at the end of the announcement indicating that the sponsor is a sponsor of the program or the station. Sponsorship is a cost effective way to have your message distributed, whether you supply goods or services. We can provide rates on request.
As Graham provides two programs he can arrange your announcements in both. The Early A.M. Attitude program on Saturday morning has a regular listening audience from those night owls returning home, those early risers or those working the night shift. The Dave Koz Radio Show, on Saturday nights is very popular with fans of smooth jazz. We are restricted to 5 mins of announcements per hour which means your message will not get lost in a sea of other advertising. As an alternative why not consider sponsoring a spot on this webpage?
For many years we suspected that we had a large audience but the cost of obtaining official ratings put it beyond the resources of all community stations. A few years ago the Australian Broadcasting Authority and the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia joined forces to commission a survey as to community radio generally. Well known researcher, McNair Ingenuity Research, undertook this survey. Australia-wide over 7 million people aged 15+ listened to community radio, that is 45% of that population. In 2006 a survey found that the figures had risen to 7.5 million aged 15+ listening Australia-wide, an increase of half a million to 47% of that population.
2008 McNair
Ingenuity Community Radio Listenership Survey Results
The results of the 2008
McNair Ingenuity Community Radio Listenership Survey are out now. If you missed
the result an incredible 57% of Australians (aged 15+) listen to community
radio every month! That's over 9.5 million people listening every
month.
In 2006 there was an impressive 47% of Australians (aged 15+)
listening to community radio every month. But in 2008, with 57% - it's safe to
say there's been an explosion in the number of people listening to community
radio.
The Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital
Economy, Senator Stephen Conroy said "The 2008 McNair Community Radio Listener
Survey results demonstrate the enthusiasm the Australian listening audience has
for community radio. These results show that Australians enjoy unique community
radio programming and are motivated to access it in new ways."
While 2CCR-FM is licensed to broadcast to Parramatta, Holroyd and Baulkham Hills, our signal can be heard over most of Sydney. Here is a great opportunity. We know that smooth jazz music is popular with a wide audience range, especially those in professional and managerial occupations. We can tailor your message to reach an attentive and responsive audience. It is far cheaper than you might imagine.
